Since 1998, B-RAY's adult volunteers have helped to maintain the welcoming, drug-free and non-threatening safe-space --- a place where LGBTQ youth can be themselves and work together and find their place in the community
One of the most vital assets of B-RAY are our wonderful adult
volunteers. Our volunteers not only coordinate each B-RAY meeting and event, but
also act as adult role models for the B-RAY youth members.
Due to the very important responsibility assumed, volunteers must meet the
following requirements:
Have a strong and legitimate interest in working with gay youth
Be comfortable with your own sexual orientation
Have a willingness to share your personal experiences with our youth members to assist them in their development
Be willing to volunteer for one Sunday meeting each month and attend one additional monthly volunteer meeting
B-RAY is a group whose sole interest is providing a safe
environment for young people to interact with each other. In order to maintain
this, we will not permit any social contact between volunteers and members
outside of the B-RAY meeting environment. However, we encourage ongoing contact
between our volunteers and have various volunteer events during the course of
the year.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer and are able to meet the
requirements listed above, please e-mail us at
info@b-ray.org and one of our volunteers will contact you
regarding our need for volunteers and information regarding the volunteer
application process.
